I took out a lease on a new 2014 Energi two weeks ago and, except for a few "bugs", I have enjoyed it alot. There was one thing that bothered me that the vehicle did not have daytime running lights (DRL). Now I always thought it was a nice safety feature to have and I was dismayed when I found out that most Ford products dont have them.

But in reading from some other forums the DRL is available since the Fusion line is sold in Canada and there it is mandatory to have DRL. I took my new Energi into the dealership and instructed them to turn the feature on. After some give and take back and forth they went into the vehicle programming and activated the DRL so now whenever the engine is running and the transmission is in other then 'Park' the headlights are on (1/2 brightness of normal night driving intensity)

If you want DRL take it to the dealership and stand your ground. (Oh, they charged me for the "service" but I think it worth it for the safety aspects) ;)
