Ford has pulled the cover off its new plug-in hybrid 2013 Fusion, also known as Fusion Energi. The vehicle is said to be the most fuel efficient midsize car in the world. Though much details are not available, it is expected to deliver more than 100 MPGe, a mile per gallon equivalency metric for electrified vehicles.
As per Ford, this is 8 MPGe more than the Chevrolet Volt and 13 MPGe more than the projected efficiency of the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid model. So, let us wait to see how it works in the practical level as the plug-in hybrids are notoriously hard to rate when it comes to fuel efficiency.

The 2013 Fusion Energi adopts the design outline from Ford’s gorgeous gull-wing EVOS concept. The vehicle also packs many stunning technological advancements like Sync voice control, a lane-keeping system, and a system that parallel parks the car automatically. This has made it to be ranked as the official car of CES 2012.

Its impressive energy-efficient drivetrain will exhibit a dramatic performance. The Fusion Energi will be available at $39,495 for the less-expensive SE Luxury trim, and the top of the line Fusion Energi Titanium will be available for $40,995. That’s before a federal tax credit, which will probably be around $4000, and state tax credits. The Fusion Energi will hit the showrooms in January.
